From kiosk order to kitchen screen and pickup

A self-ordering kiosk solves only the first part of a restaurant order. The useful question is what happens after a guest confirms it: which kitchen station receives each item, and how does the guest know when to collect it? Start with one menu

List the categories, products, and choices your restaurant actually sells. Check that the kiosk shows the same current menu as the other channels you use. Send each item to the right kitchen view

After an order is placed, the KDS can organize work by category or station. A pizza item can appear with pizza preparation, a drink with beverages, and a chef view can follow the full order. Test an order that contains items for more than one station. Confirm that each station sees the right work and that the order remains understandable as one customer order. Close the loop at pickup

The queue display serves a different audience from the KDS. It can show waiting and ready lists so guests know when to approach the counter. Test the order identifier, the move to ready, and how staff clear a collected order. Decide who helps guests when a screen or connection is unavailable.
